Tanabata 七夕
The party of Tanabata, also known as the 'Star Festival', is a Japanese celebration
which takes place on the 7th of July. According to Japanese tradition, this is the only day of the year that
the two stars, Altair and Vega, can meet each other.
At this time of year, it is tradition to write the wishes of the Tanabata (known as tanzaku) in strips of
colored paper and hang them on the trees Tanabata, made of bamboo branches.
