MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT AIKO KUROSU
If 2020 has been a year of many difficulties, 2021 was no less so, because Covid 19 hit hard, in the world population in general and in Paraguay in particular.
Therefore, the activities that we normally do could not be carried out; however, the Seijinshiki was performed in person, with the corresponding health care.
Subsequently, and for the first time, the Ordinary General Assembly was held virtually, because it was authorized by a Decree of the Executive Power.
The start of the Nihongogakko classes, some traditional Japanese and Paraguayan celebrations, the ordinary sessions of the Board of Directors and the different commissions were held virtually.
However, despite the worst time we have experienced in this pandemic, the Association has not stopped working, constantly receiving visits; programming and executing actions that served to ensure that what was budgeted is fulfilled and even more so, carrying out works for the benefit of the most needy; and, carrying out the maintenance of all its infrastructure, which does not give up because in part they are old constructions and because to have them in good condition, everything must have the required attention.
As it had been established that with the Rengoukai subsidy, from the funds recovered from the loans granted by JICA, for the years 2020 and 2021, the house for the caretaker of the property would be built; That's how it was done and we started and finished a house of almost 80 m2, modern, charming and with all the necessary facilities.
Having presented the opportunity to present projects to JICA, we have presented one for the realization of a House of the Tea Ceremony, as a complement to the Nikkei Paraguayan Identity Center - looking to the future (90% in charge of JICA and 10 % as our compensation). The project was approved and today it is available to the entire community to appreciate what is part of Japanese culture.
Every day we must face obstacles and this is in our Association as well as in our private lives. Therefore, I encourage the children, the elderly and the entire community that make up this Association, to continue taking care of ourselves and maintain a POSITIVE ATTITUDE, which may not solve all the problems; but it makes solving any problem a much more pleasant experience.
Thank you very much.

MESSAGE FROM PRESIDENT AIKO KUROSU
This year 2020 is difficult, atypical, and with many ways of reinvention and learning for everyone.
And for our Association, it is no exception.
Having carried out 2 or 3 scheduled activities, we all saw each other in quarantine, due to Covid 19.
We seek to reinvent ourselves so that we don't stop doing what is possible, and to work quickly with the approved budget to get to the end of the year smoothly, covering the obligations, without the income that was anticipated.
But this difficult situation that we are going through, put us in the line of the challenge of undertaking; to not back down.
Today, with great pride, we can say that we have evolved; because we are also already within a website, in which our associates, their families, friends and third parties will be able to internalize everything that our Association is, organizes and offers.
Because today more than ever we need technology to feel closer to each other; taking care of ourselves with due physical distancing.
Thank you very much!
